Trust & Safety center
Safety is part of the game.
Friendly competition only works when everyone feels safe. Here's how we protect players, how you stay in control, and what we expect from each other.
- Reports are confidential
- People review every serious case
- Appeals are always heard
How reporting works
From one tap to a fair decision
Report a comment, profile, challenge or ad from its menu. Here's what happens next.
- 1
You report
Choose a reason and add context if you like. The person won't know it was you.
- 2
Smart triage
Automated checks sort reports by severity so urgent cases jump the queue. Signals assist — they never decide alone.
- 3
Human review
A trained moderator looks at the evidence, the context and the account's history.
- 4
Outcome & notice
We act proportionally and let both sides know what happened, in plain language.
Your identity as a reporter is never shared. We also rate-limit mass reporting so it can't be used as a weapon.
Graduated actions
Proportional, not punitive
Most problems are solved with a nudge. Stronger measures are kept for serious or repeated harm.
- 01
Educational warning
A friendly heads-up with the guideline that applies.
- 02
Limited visibility
Content stays up but is shown to fewer people while reviewed.
- 03
Interaction pause
Temporarily no commenting, challenging or posting.
- 04
Content removal
Content that breaks the rules is taken down.
- 05
Account suspension
A time-limited suspension for serious or repeated conduct.
- 06
Permanent removal
For the most severe harm. Always reviewed by a senior moderator.

Appeals
Think we got it wrong? Tell us.
Moderators are human, and so are mistakes. Every enforcement notice includes a way to appeal.
Appeals are usually answered within 72 hours.
- 1
Read the notice
It names the guideline and the action — never the person who reported you.
- 2
Appeal within 30 days
Explain the context in your own words. One tap from the notice.
- 3
A fresh pair of eyes
Someone who didn't make the original decision reviews it whenever possible.
- 4
Get a clear answer
Upheld or overturned — with a reason. Overturned actions are fully reversed.
Ad safety
Ads that know their place
Paid content is always labeled, always reviewed, and never shows up while you play.
Advertising policy for brands
Hear every answer
by Wavelength Audio
- Every ad and boost is reviewed by a person before it runs
- Always labeled Sponsored or Boosted, with the advertiser's name
- Never during questions, timers, scoring or safety flows
- Hide or report any ad from its menu
- Destinations are scanned for phishing and unsafe redirects
- No real-money gambling or get-rich promotions — ever
Community guidelines
Play hard. Be kind.
Six rules that keep SIDEQUEST fun for everyone. They apply to comments, profiles, challenges, polls, crews and ads.
Be kind
Trash talk about the game is fine. Attacks on people — their identity, looks or background — are not.
Play fair
No cheating, answer sharing during live games, multiple accounts or vote manipulation.
Keep it real
Don't impersonate other players, brands or SIDEQUEST staff. Satire must be obvious.
Respect privacy
Never share someone's personal information, private messages or photos without consent.
No scams or spam
No phishing, fake giveaways, mass links or “DM me to verify” messages.
Keep it safe
No threats, sexual content, self-harm encouragement or illegal activity.
Totally fine
- Friendly trash talk about scores
- Passionate poll debates
- Rematch requests (within reason)
- Pointing out a wrong answer politely
Not okay
- Insults about someone's identity
- Spamming challenge links
- Pretending to be support staff
- Sharing someone's real name or location
